- Many people mail me asking about future plans. In an attempt to save
- everyone's time, let me state what I know here.
-
- I want to add PowerMac support as soon as possible. This is not a simple
- case of adding UPPs and recompiling the code. At present Sparkle is built
- on the Think Class Library 1.1.3 and I want to shift it to TCL 2.0 before
- I recompile for PowerMac. This process of shifting to TCL 2.0 requires me
- to go through all my source files cleaning up a year's worth of assorted
- junk that's accumulated there. It is this cleaning up process that is
- taking time. It is also because of this cleanup that I have been issuing
- a spate of new releases. As I go through old code I fix bugs, see easy
- ways to add new functionality fast and suchlike.
- I will get to PowerMac ASAP. But I can't do it any faster than I'm doing
- it and the process really can't be helped along by anyone else.
-
- Once I switch to TCL 2.0 the framework should be in place for
- AppleScriptablity. I have big plans for AppleScripting and want to add it
- ASAP. However, like PowerMac support it can't be done till the code is
- cleaned up.
-
- I will add audio support after the above two issues are covered.
-
- These are the large goals. Many small things will be added simply as part
- of the code cleanup. If you need something added that you imagine is
- pretty trivial, mail me. It may be I can add it in a few hours and help
- you, and it may be something I wouldn't otherwise think of.
